Blogging and Twitter--Social Media is Upon Us!

Remember these things:
  • A blog is not as complicated as it sounds. :)
    • It's *very* similar to Microsoft Word.
    • Just type everything you want to say and click 'publish'.
    • Parents can view this blog on any device--from any location.
    • With a blog, there is really NO excuse as to why students aren't prepared.
    • It *doesn't* enable--it provides another means to reach 'hard to reach' parents.
    • It is *extremely* helpful when students are absent.
    • You can type your blog in the privacy of your own home--in your PJs *or* on vacation! (Because that's what we all want to do on vacation!)
    • The blog can be printed out and sent home as a hard copy for students with no Internet.
    • If you can't beat 'em, join 'em--technology isn't going away. (The Internet will *never* be cancelled!)
    • I can help you get started! (You need a gmail account first and foremost.) Just ask for help!
  • Twitter
    • Great way to conduct an online PLC with teachers statewide and nationwide.
    • Sunday nights @ 8pm-- #wyoedchat
    • James Kapptie--organizer--he's the one who did the Twitter class on Tech Day.
